OK, here's a bare page. No css, no images. It's a default CS2 page.

The head section looks like this, adding spaces:

The above characters look exactly the same in source code as they do on the page.

In case you can't see anything, I typed a line of pound signs - that's British pound, not the hash mark - then a row of curly apostrophes, then a row of en-dashes.
